Cheap

When I say I am cheap it only means that I do not need much money to make me happy. People make me happy, not money.

I respect money and look for inexpensive ways to bring beauty and comfort to me and my family. I am a crafter and choose the least expensive items on a menu under my prefered items. I do not venture into high end stores when I can find something of equal quality in a less expensive place. I like the clearance aisles, dollar stores, and sales.

I cannot serve money and God at the same time. This means that if God tells me to give something away instead of selling it for money, I choose to do as God says.

Being cheap allowed me to stay at home while raising our children. My kids and grands are much more important than fancy clothes or spa days. It is my choice and I do not pass judgement on those who choose otherwise. I did small in home jobs to be able to buy a few extras, but I cut corners when I needed to and mostly when I could.

Being cheap was not selling myself short, but using my creative powers to live simply and within our means. Being cheap has made me realize the value in my gifts. It is hard to spend pennies when others are spending dollars. God has made me a treasure far greater than money. I look forward to the riches I am storing up in heaven!
