First Moments

Life seems so mundane at times. We go through the motions of our day, doing the same tasks over and over. We brush teeth, comb hair, drive to work or start our computers. We scroll through FB or other social media platforms. We say hi to familiar people, send love to loved ones. I think you get the idea. We are like robots walking on tread mills through our day, not really recognizing those first moments that we might ignore, or sometimes accept but not really see their newness.

What is a first moment? A first moment is a new thought, experience or just a change of direction. It could even be a temptation, or a choice between good or best, bad or worse. Like conception, our first moments change us. In every first moment God is there. God sometimes even designs our first moments. But always He stands by ready to hear us if we only ask for His input.

First moments are fleeting. The soon rush onto a path that will take us somewhere we want to be or somewhere we need to turn back from. They are like the first spark that becomes an amazing firework blossom in the night sky!

When we make that first moment choice to put down our phone, turn off the tv or stop the video game, and turn to look at the person next to you, may become a new friendship or opportunity. But when we keep our focus only on our everyday routine, we might miss it, and it may or may not come back to us.

This week, I am choosing a first moment to give a short lesson on my acronym, H.O.L.D., on YouTube. I took the first step by signing up. Now the first moment is near. Tomorrow at noon, I will be live with the Spiritual Growth Summit. You can sign up (it's free) at http://www.thrivewithme2023.com . God has given me a friend who pointed me to this first moment. This is one I believe He has orchestrated. Though I do not know where this will lead, it is a first moment to remember. I have been interviewed on YouTube, but never gave a lesson so this will be interesting.

I hope you can recognize your first moments when they come, choose the ones that are the best and follow God's leading into them. For now, maybe you might share your most recent first moment and how you saw God in that moment. Hope to hear from you! I also hope that your first moment fills you with a great adventure!
