God's "But"

God disciplines all people in order to change their destinies. discipline comes in different ways, but in every way, God's discipline is against sin, not the sinner. His focus is on bringing sinners back into His goodness so they can be blessed.

As I have been studying many of the prophets lately, I am made aware of the devastation sin causes in our lives. I have also learned to keep my eyes fixed on the "But" that God always provides. He still does that today and will continue to do so, because He loves people!

God, being holy, must punish and extinguish all evil, or He could not be holy and good. BUT His great love for His creation leaves no option but to forgive and restore at any cost to Himself. He sent Jesus, His one and only Son, His very essence, to pay that cost. He did this so we would not suffer the separation between us and Himself that sin causes. The most marvelous thought for me is that sin's separation causes suffering for God as well as us. He was and is the only one who can fix this sin problem.

Whatever we are suffering because of sin in us or in the world, we can be sure God has planned a "But" to fix it. But God!

I hope you trust His love and goodness and have received His forgiveness, grace, and mercy. I have and I do every day.
