I Like Minutes

My Grandlady, Brooke, was eight years old when she told me, "I don't like hours! I like minutes!" We were waiting to take her on a fun outing, but the timing was too slow for her. I understood perfectly, because when I want something I expect to be wonderful, I don't like waiting hours for it, but maybe I can wait minutes.

It tries our patience to wait, but often times waiting and persevering to the end results in a greater reward. I does seem contradictory that waiting would help us enjoy the reward so much more, but it does. Our patience may produce the very best God has to give and that beats a second or third best any day!

As I grow impatient for things to change, good to come, or others to come around to my way of thinking, I need to accept the wait. It may take only a minute, but it could take years. In the waiting time, I should not lose sight of what is before me, but also keep my eyes fixed on the end goal. What is in my present can change me, make me better and ready for the reward. I can watch the end become a clearer vision of what God has in store for me.

Time within us is infinite. We carry our past, live in the present moment, and hope for the future. Infinity is God's timing. Waiting on Him should not make us grumble. He is to be praised for the ultimate best He has for us, in the next minute or the next few hours, years, or forever. His best is always wrapped up in more of Him!
