Provision and Healing

Jesus did provide and heal, but as we look at His first Advent, we must also look at His personal life.

Jesus provided for others even though He had no place to call home. He depended on His Heavenly Father alone to provide all He needed. Even when He fed the multitudes, He went to God, The Father to provide what He did not have in His hands.

At the time of His crucifixion, Jesus could have called out to be healed and freed from the suffering of His body, but He refused even the gall that was offered Him. He trusted God alone to turn His suffering into healing. He had to pass through death to get His healing, but He did receive.

So the question I have for myself, is "Who do You turn to, Carolynn, when you have nothing in your hands to provide for yourself or others? Who do you turn to when your body feels the pain of sin that lurks in the world? I hope my answer would be that I would turn to God, my Father.

Jesus, You are the sacrifice of love that The Father sent us! Forgive me when I do not recognize the love and the open hand You offer me. Fill me, LORD, with You more than things or comfort. I submit to Your goodness in providing and healing me in Your time!
