The Days Between

What are the days between Christmas and New Year? Do we need to relax or fill them up with sweeping up the Christmas leftovers and make preparations for a new celebration?

Today was a pretty laid back day for us at our house. Patrick and I just made time for each other and enjoyed relaxing after so many get togethers. I considered starting the take down of the smaller Christmas decorations, or maybe begin a craft for my table for January. Didn't do either one.

I did spend extra time in my bible study and was reminded how gracious God was to give me a savior and free me from the punishment I deserve for my sins. I was reminded that God has no favorites. All people are loved by Him. The problem is that if we do not recognize our need to be saved, Jesus is not able to save us. I know I need a Savior! Do you?

Jesus, I am amazed that You would enter this world of sin, love every sinner enough to take their punishment and set us free. You deserve my worship and praise. Forgive me when I am silent about this wonderful gift given to me out of pure love with no obligation. Help me to open my mouth and say it loud that You alone cared enough to take my punishment on Your shoulders! I will open my mouth and speak the words in love just as You love.
