The End or The Beginning

Christmas celebrations are over. Our family gathered together and enjoyed good food, feasting, laughs, and exchanges of gifts of love. This year we exchanged names and bought tee shirts. It was fun and loving to celebrate the uniqueness of each member of our family.

But there were some disappointments along the way, but never fear, there was always grace applied and new reasons to celebrate at a later time.

Those disappointments made me wonder if our Christmas was now in the past or can it still be our future? Today, at sundown, the celebration of Hanukkah ends. Today, Christmas day is over. But does the end of our celebrations bring an end to the Light given from above, or the end of God's love, grace, and salvation given to us through the birth of His only Son, Jesus?

The choice is ours. We can live in the light or live hiding in the darkness. We can invite Jesus to be our Savior, or believe that we have no need of salvation. If we choose light, choose salvation, we will surely live the celebrations every day.

Jesus, You have proven by your resurrection that Your light still shines for those who seek to find it. You have shown us that the Love of The Father is with us always! Forgive me when I grow sad at the end of the celebrations. Show me how to celebrate each day with joy in creation, the gift of Your Spirit, and Your great salvation! Let's party together every day and throughout eternity!
