Will You Choose Me?

Monday Musings..... It has been a busy month and we now step into a new year that may seem like a slow down. But if 2023 is anything close to 2022 we will find ourselves speeding along toward another year....2024! This year, 2023 is Patrick's and my 50th year! We will have been married 50 years September 15, 2023. We plan to celebrate the entire year. What are we celebrating? We are celebrating the blessing of each other. We believe God brought us, two very different people, together and kept us tied together through our faith in Him. 50 years ago today, Patrick sat on a sofa next to me before going off to work. He yawned over and over for about a half hour. He said he wanted to tell me something. I think he couldn't catch his breath. He finally asked me to marry him. Then he said, but I had to promise we would both finish our degrees. I said "yes"! I wish back then that I would have been looking for God in the moment. I know He was there, and I know Patrick would still have asked, and I would have still said "yes", but I would like to go back and see God's fingerprint, recognize His voice, because God has always been our third cord and with Him we have been strong. But all I saw was us. So, as I sit here at the start of 2023, I want to encourage you not to let days go by that you fail to see or hear God. He loves to show Himself in creation (the heavens declare His glory!) He even speaks to us in yawns and small silences! What is He saying? What is He showing us? He is saying, "I love you, choose Me!"

He gives us little gifts in the sights and sounds around us every day. He loves it when we notice those little gifts! Thank Him today! Say "yes" to Him every day this year! (P.S. I already heard Him once today. He sent me a sweet little bird to serenade me this morning!)
